Flimsie's link reports the Milwaukee Roundhouse in Lewistown was demolished last week. Tried to find an aerial photo of it on the Terraserver, but they don't have any of Lewiston. They do have topo maps, which can actually be better for initially locating a site, then knowing where it is go back to the photo image.

Anyway, found the link below which has a picture of the structure being built. The Lewsitown roundhouse was also on the EPA superfund list, and another roundhouse in Deer Lodge is also, along with the Georgetwon Railroad.

Wondered what was left in Deer Lodge and what it was?

This roundhouse was used by the Milwaukee electrics. The page link below is slow-loading, but go to the bottom and you'll see an inside photo of the roundhouse with a boxcab electric set. I still haven't learned if this building was actually demolished, though Deer Lodge has a Milwaukee Road Little Joe on display elsewhere.

To my knowledge everything in Deer Lodge is gone and has been for some time. I seem to remember there was a turntable there. Likely it was cut up on site. Also I remember there was a rotary plow there for a long time. Also south of town there were several boxcabs and a large steam tender on a siding. Was any of this preserved elsewhere?
