In March 2002, the BNSF moved four ex-C&NW, ex-METRA E8s (MRAX 515, MRAX 516, MRAX 518, MRAX 521) owned by Mineral Range Inc., from the Riverport Railroad at Robinson Spur (Savanna), IL to the IMRL at Silvis Jct. (Quad Cities), IL. These locomotives were ultimately destined to Deadwood, SD to power the Dunrail trains that would deliver visitors to a new destination resort (The Dunbar) being constructed by a private developer (Kevin Costner) in conjunction with the State of South Dakota.
Last I knew the E8s were still at NRE in Silvis. Anyone know if the Dunrail project is still alive? Also, anyone know if any passenger cars were aquired for this project?

Other than an occasional press release, the project appears comatose. Mr. Costner has not been able to arrange financing, based on earlier press releases.
