Does anyone know the status of the V&T #1 replica that is being built at Strasburg?
When I visited Strasburg last August, I had a chance to tour the shops. The parts for the frame of the "Lyon" had been cut out and some work had been done on the running gear. Most of the shop's effort at the time was on the refurbishing of their #89, including replacement of the crownsheet. Hope to hear more as this project moves along- it would be great to get up there to see it under steam! Does anyone know who commisioned the loco?
As far as I have heard, it was supposed to be brought to Nevada when it is finished and spend some time at both the Nevada State RR Museum and at the V&T in Virginia City...
-Andrew
