For those of us who try to figure out why people visit places (such as railroad museums and tourist railroads), (or don't) I suggest reading today's New York Times on line. There you will learn that Florida's Cypress Gardens, a tourist attraction that was once quite a showplace for waterskiing and wandering southern belles, has ceased to exist. I recall it well from childhood trips to Florida. Among the reasons cited for its demise: A changing population that no longer wanted what they were selling.

Is that Spanish moss on your ten-wheeler, sir?

Cheer up, Jim...I hear there's a plan to convert Cypress Gardens to a nudist resort!
