Post subject:  More on Mayfield, PA

Hello All

I've been doing some more digging into the Mayfild Yard and the contents therein. If you check out the link below there is a section on the Mayfield Yard with some photographs and also some from Carbondale from a website I've known about for a while, but just remembered they had info on Mayfield/Carbondale.

Also some more background on the equipment, the charred remains (read: frame) of the wooden car in the junkyard was once O&W car 87. The intact car across the street (and I use that loosely) was once a parlor car from the O&W converted to work train service and was moved in place via panel track sometime around 1940!

Also the three restored DL&W hoppers that are at Steamtown were donated by the Bauman estate in 1992 and were part of a group of 6 in Carbondale. I have no idea where the other 3 went, but they are long gone now...

Just some more background.

Enjoy!
