In Walla Walla, Washington the old Walla Walla Valley Railway carbarn/enginehouse is home to Canoe Ridge Winery. The WWV started life as an electric railroad that was later a Northern Pacific subsidiary. Richard |

Hey Sandy and Rob, might also include excursion trains and tourist trains which serve breweries or wineries in your article. Fond memories of a great dinner train experience in Seattle at the convention a few years ago, nice consist serving dinner on the way to the winery, stop for tastings, dessert and coffee on the return trip. Most tasty and civilized way to have a great evening. Wasn't there an article written by a German gent a few years back about beer / train ties in? I recall a phone conversation about my Old Valve Oil Stout recipe........ San Diego has some trolley beer stuff going on, Colorado lost a brewery in Silver Plume with railroad related products some years ago. Mention must be made of the Tramcar Restaurant in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia - fine vintages served with 5 course dinners in restored W class cars with almost too much service and guest care, while cruising around the city tram system.
