<br>I posted to the board recently about my upcoming restoration efforts on an REA baggage cart. I'm shocked that so little organized work has been done on the REA or the other express companies for that matter. I know that there's a modeler's guide to REA, but I can't seem to locate any kind of historical organization or veteran's association. I'm amazed that more hasn't been done in a detailed professional manner on such an important part of railroad operations in the past 100+ years.<p>Any help...<br>-Jeff Ford<p>

I don't really think there is much info out there that organizations are sharing about REA. Around our Brightside yard is an old (I believe) REA baggage cart that is as swayback as an old horse, nobody really knows much about it!<p>I would love to find for info about REA so we could post info in our Combine for the public to learn about.<p>Johnathon Kruger<br>Steam Department<br>Niles Canyon Railway<br>

<br>I've only seen passing mentions in books. I do need to track down the previously mentioned "Modeler's Guide to REA." The only other source that I've seen that treated the subject at any length was Reed's _History of Texas Railroads_ which has a short section at the back on Express services in Texas. This information is pre-1940's and so it hints at several interesting tid-bits, including mergers and aquisitions. It is interesting to note that the American Express that we're all familiar with for their credit cards and money orders was originally a railway express company.<p>-Jeff
