Do owns the Jordan Spreader Co. now? Was it taken over by Pandrol Jackson? Did P J ever build similar spreaders? Saw a photo of a spreader that had been overhauled and it had Pandrol Jackson painted on the side but not owned by them. Thanks for any insight.

The O. F. Jordan Co was purchased by Jackson Vibrators (Jackson tampers) in November, 1964.

There was a later corporate name change to Jackson-Jordan. As part of the consolidation in the supplier industry, the company merged and became Pandrol Jackson. Recently, it was further consolidated and is now part of Harsco Track Technologies along with two erstwhile competitors, Tamper and Fairmont.

The Alaska RR purchased a new spreader in 2002, the first one built in over ten years, I believe.
