We would appreciate any info on a Mt. Claire or possibly Montclair RR Station in Baltimore, MD. It was mentioned on TV last week. Thanks
The Mt. Clare station is the home of the B&O RR Museum in Baltimore. It is one of the most important RR sites in the US. It is the place where the first railroad ticket was sold in the US. Check out the website. Hope this helps!
Tom Gears
The B&O Railroad Museum is the cradle of American Railroading. The first cornerstone of the B&O was laid on 4 July, 1828, by Charles Carroll of Carrolton, the last surviving signer of the Declartation of Independence who was 92 at the time!
Today the B&O Railroad Museum owns the property as well as the first mile of railroad track in the US. Check out their web site at www.borail.org.
