I have a great aunt that has a painting on her living room wall, its a picture of a short freight train rounding a curve in a desert setting. The view is from the end, at the caboose end. The locomotive is in the distance and appears to have a Vanderbilt tender (ESPEE?)

I've seen it other places-anybody know the name? Where could I get a copy?

I'm sitting here looking at the same picture over the computer . It's called THE RED CABOOSE by P. DETLEFSEN. Not sure where to get a copy since this one has been on our wall for at least 10 years.

I suggest you find a run of back issues of Railfan and Railroad and look in there for ads on these prints.

Their rates were cheaper than TRAINS, so more of the artists were seen there!

If it's the same picture I'm thinking of (there's a copy in my basement), they used to sell cheap prints at that well-known art emporium, K-Mart.
