A couple of years ago,there was a group working on (the idea) of restoring a Maine Central consol, i believe the # was 517. I think they made a trip to see the 519 @ Seamtown- was this group "serious"-if so-how are they faring?

I saw the 501 under a tarp in North Conway a few years go. I believe they're making some good progress, a google search of the 470 Railroad Club, and the Conway Scenic Railroad will yield more info. The 501 was at one time displayed in Bellows Falls, but was aquired by the 470 Railroad Club as Steamtown prepaired to move to Scranton.

I remember their visit to Steamtown a few years ago, I believe they borrowed parts of the 519's throttle linkage system to use a patterns.

I believe the gentleman who had been the driving force behind her restoration developed some health problems. She has remained relatively unchanged for the last year or so. I've been hoping that someone close to the project might post an update...
