You got me.

"Appoquinimink" is the name of a creek weaving through Odessa, Delaware, and the name of a Friends (Quaker) Meeting House that was a "station on the Underground Railroad. The nearest full-sized railroad is the Delmarva main line in nearby Middletown; the nearest "preservastionists" are either the stash of former Chesapeake RR stuff in Clayton, the Wilmington & Western in Greenbank, or a couple minor projects in New Castle, Del., Sudlersville, Md., etc.; the only steam loco south of the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal is former Navy/W&W/Queen Anne's 0-6-0T 3, still rusting near Lewes.

Methinks this is a model railroader or live-steamer pulling the moral equivalent of Bart Simpson calling Moe's Tavern and asking Moe to page "Ivana Tinkle" or "Seymour Hare".........

Not entirely clear to me is who exactly owns the #3, if anyone. Was that ever determined??

AFAIK it's the principal investor/owner that was involved with the Queen Anne's, who has reportedly rebuffed several serious offers for the loco.

Does anyone know what happened to the Pennsylvania MP-54 commuter car that was owned by Queen Anne's? Is that stored in the area, too?

As if one location with a 4-4-0 and a 4-8-2 was not difficult enough to believe, that fact that the individual used the same e-mail address and different name to post the message after it was the other tipoff.

Finally the e-mail appoquinimink2003@yahoo.com does not appear in Yahoo's member services. Someone needs to drop this guy's postings.

It could be worst, at least he didn't offer to enlarge a body part you don't have, or show you some pictures or webcam, or transfer $10M from a bank in Africa to your account. "Pssst hey buddy, wanna buy a builder's plate? I've got several of them in my coat here. Or how about this steam lizard on my back? Or this streetcar part under my hat. Hey, it's all legit...."

Nothing except a referral to a remedial English class, because as you can see above *I* caught on to him first. Or at least guessed it was a model railroad first.

A.M.

It isn't an English class that I need. It's glasses!

I have no problem with taking second place!

Do you think we should send the F.R.A. to this Mick fellow's house?

Have a good weekend!
