The Newtown Square Historical and Preservation Society has acquired The last remaining PRR coach in the PK class #1414, built in 1902. The restoration of this wooden coach will be starting shortly and we want to install the original lighting, namely Pintsch Gas lamps. Does any one know where we may acquire some of these lamps?

What do you want to do? Do you want to have lighting fixtures for looks? Or do you want to restore the entire system?

Do you have any interior photos of this class of car from that era to know what sytle the car had?

Good question Brian. The fixtures will not be operative as this is a static display. At the present the car is still too dark to get a picture but as soon as the window coverings are removed pictures will be taken.

Don,

There was a good series of articles on lighting
in the last few issues of Loco & Railway Preservation. Mostly on electric systems, but as I recall there were some good drawings about the earlier gas producer system.

I seem to recall several different styles of gas light fixtures. And then there were cars with ceiling fixtures and fixtures on the window piers.

So, if the car does not have fixtures at this time, I would recommend you to find "as-built" or "in service" interior photos of your class of car.
