Post subject:  WW&F flatcar

Flatcar that was used to tear up the wiscassett, Waterville & Farmington in Maine is rebuilt to rebuild the railroad 70 years later.

As the caption notes, now it's being used to bring the line back to life. I spent a good part of an October 2002 weekend shoveling ballast off of this very car onto the rebuilt WW&F, along with an intrepid team of co-shovelers..... They don't have a ballast hopper, and the side-dump cars are basically both dangerous to run and dangerous to dump (as in all-at-once one way or another), so......
