You guys deserve something more than a medal apiece. This is remarkable work. If those two locos should ever be moved out of there, or restored, or prominently preserved, it will only be because of your work. Thank you!

The idea is not to remove them from the site but to preserve them where they are.

The locomotives, puplcars etc. are sitting where they where last used in 1933.

If we were to remove them they would simply become (to the average person) just another locomotive. The link with what they were used for, how they were used and where they were used would be lost. The would be out of context.

Today, when you visit the site, you can see the locomotives, pulpcars etc. resting where they where parked in 1933. You can hike and explore the track that they once ran on and poke around the cars they once hauled as well as the various building locations, foundations and hundreds of artifacts that litter the surrounding woods.

I have been to the site numerous times and its still a thrill to follow that narrow muddy path through the woods, turn the last bend and be stunned by the site of 2 full size steam locomotives sitting in that little clearing in the middle of no-where.The look of astonishment on first time vistors faces is worth the effort alone.

Its great to watch someone "discover" an artifact, even though it has been discovered many, many times before.

Our goal is to preserve them in place and protect these unique qualities.

Thanks for your interest.
