The Rocky Mountain Railroad Club site says that this Diesel is being held by COORs for delivery to the nearby Colorado Railroad Museum.

Can any of you Diesel fans tell me the year it was built and something of its history?

I thought the number was for an EMD GP-30. The roster linked to above shows the GP-30s numbered in the 5000's.
