| Post subject: | Plymouth Construction List Query |
If anyone has access to a Plymouth Loco Works construction list the Museum of Transportation in St. Louis is trying to fully identify a 30-ton industrial loco in our collection. It was built in 1942 for the War Dept (US Army) as its #7581, construction number 4449, and we believe it may be a model ML. But is it an ML6 or ML8? It has been re-engined and came to us from Majistic Building Materials. It is a two axle (B) switcher with mechanical drive. It arrived in 1972 and was last used at Eureka, MO. It > arrived in 1972 and was last used at Eureka, > MO. PLW #4449 is an ML-8. It was built with a LeRoi Model RX1V engine. 2004c.i.d. V-8 gas hog. 6 3/4" bore by 7" stroke. 250 HP @ 1000 RPM. Thanks for the info. We're redoing our roster booklet and keep finding gaps in our knowledge. Can anyone tell us where to find a builder's photo for this batch of locos? A book or magazine reference would do. Museum of Transportation rdgoldfede@aol.com |
