Augusta Railroad (at Augusta, Arkansas) 0-4-4T, pictured in Beebe & Clegg's Mixed Train Daily. This short RR later used a 2-6-0 from the Arkansas RR, which is still stored at the St. Louis, Iron Mountain & Southern tourist RR in Missouri, in poor condition. After steam operation ended in 1958, another group took over the line and operated it for a while with two small gas or diesel critters, both of which went to the trolley group in Fort Smith. In the 1980s, the tracks were said to be still in place at Augusta, but were apparently removed as part of a street paving project. Anyone know for sure if they were removed?
