I just noticed that a new feature was added to the Illinois Railway Museum website by our intrepid webmaster. There's now a functioning webcam that can be viewed from the homepage (it's under "New Site Features"). The webcam is looking east from the Spaulding interlocking tower and shows the station tracks, main line and part of the west leg of the wye. Right now (Friday) the only thing operating is an interurban car, but during the weekend I'm sure it will be buzzing with activity.

IRM has a good, informative website, and I hope all groups will continue updating theirs frequently also. I recently visited one that hadn't been updated since 1998! Considering that most museums roster tons of computer talent among their members, it shouldn't require too much effort to update a website for the good of the cause.

Thanks. While I agree that some areas of the IRM website don't take too much effort to update, there are certain areas that are very time consuming and have a lot of backend programming. Regardless, I still find myself wanting to work on railway equipment while at the museum and not do what I do every day for my real job which is computer crap...I still find some time to work on our website, and there are still many areas that could use some work.

Thzank you for your good work.

That photo gallery is great. Not many museums try to put a photo of every car up on the site. Eapecially when the museum is getting close to 300 cars of various kinds.

By the way, my roster is dated 1995 is there a more recent one?

Sure is, dated December 2000, but by now it too is out of date by 20-30 pieces of new equipment. Maybe next year...
