I am interning for my senator this summer in Washington, and I work on his legislative staff. Specifically, I work with the people that handle among other things, transportation issues. I asked yesterday about TEA-21 reauthorization. That legislation is due out committee in about 2 weeks or so, maybe later. Most indicators are that the legislation will look like the previous bill, preservation monies included. Since I should still be up here when it is released from committee, I will definately take a look at it and report to the board.

This is great, an inside track to such information with someone closely involved. I hope the funding makes it unscathed, as it is an important source for projects that could never raise the amounts they need otherwise. I hope those who need it in our field will apply and not let the bike and snowmobile people get it all.
