I am working on a marketing study for the Siouxland Historical Railroad Association in Sioux City, Iowa. As part of the study, I am collecting visitor attendance figures for tourist railway museums in an effort to determine the drawing power and trends of railway museums. The marketing study will also form the basis of new grants that we are applying for to help with the rehabilitation of the Milwaukee Shops and Steam Locomotive GN 1355.

If you are involved with a railway museum and wouldn't mind sharing your attendance figures for the past five years (broken down by years) I would greatly appreciate it.

Can't get exact figures by year, but can easily say that our attendance at National Capital Trolley Museum averages around 18,000 annual visitors.

The attendance figures for 2002 at the Nevada Northern Railway Museum are online at the link below. Previous year's figures are probably available through the Museum office. Attendance to date for 2003 is up almost 24% compared with last year.
