Roanoke scrapyard engine?

Can't quite make out the number, but is this the 1118, which reposes in dereliction in the Roanoke scrapyard?

It is the same locomotive. Today she stands completely stripped, but not wholley unsalvagable. There are no suitable tenders with the Roanoke locomotives. Several Y3 tenders are in the scrapline.

Interesting, looks like both of those pics came straight from the Lost Engines of Roanoke site. The scrapyard shot is one of mine, and the in service shot is from the Otto Perry collection on the Denver Public Library site (which I used with their permission on Lost Engines). I don't recall giving this person permission to use these photos on his site though. I'll happily do so if he just asks, but I can only speak for my own photos. For the Otto Perry and N&W archive shots, he will need to ask either the Denver Public Library, or the Virginia Tech archive and Norfolk Southern PR department just like I did.

I have no problem with people freely linking to images on my sites (like the images that get posted here on the Interchange), that's not the issue here. But for someone to copy the image onto their own server and put it up as part of their site, I think it's only fair that they should ask for permission or at least give credit where it's due.

Assuming someone eventually steps forward to save the Roanoke engines, would a tender (or perhaps the frame of one) from China be modifyable to N&W proportions? Perhaps they could slip it into a shipload of stuff headed for Wal-Mart!
