I have it upon good authority that steam has once again run thru Gowanda NY

Does anyone have any pics?

I think it was some old Baldwin from Dunkirk that got a bunch of trucks covered with gunk last Sept.

Heard it looks much nicer now.

You are right. Number 6 was there this weekend for a shake down run. It ran about 25 miles and did great. I have pictures which I will try to get posted. Scott did a great job on it!!!

Who forgot to mention this?!?!?!?!? My camera sat on the table all weekend when it could have documenting history!!!! I am so glad to hear steam is back in New York, but I want to see it!!!! (and ride behind it) PLEASE keep us posted on any future movements.
And again, if the owner is looking for any help, I am willing to learn whatever it takes.
Steam starved in New York,
Matt

HHMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM....
Gowanda is about an hour away....
The cameras are charging!
Im not really familar with the area, I rode the train years and years ago when I was pretty young so I remember the staion but thats it. What way will they be going? North over the bridge or south (I believe the train I rode went south)? how far will they go? Any chasing tips? Is there any way we can make a donation?
very very good news!
thanks,
Matt

The trackage they will be on is:

New York & Lake Erie Railroad

http://www.nylerr.com/NYLE.php

the plan (if I understand correctly) is:

Gowanda>Dayton>Markhams>South Dayton>Cherry Creek (and back)

talk to Scott about donations

everyone...enjoy

updated info (slightly late) sorry

still got tomorrow, though

Train leaves Gowanda at 10 am July 7&8. Power is a Baldwin 0-4-0 saddle tank built 1925. There is a 3 1/2 hour layover in south Dayton. The antique tractor show will be underway both days. A short 1 1/2 hour trip from South Dayton to Cherry creek leaves at 1pm. Prices are 25$ for adults and 15 for child under 12. Short trip is 15$ for adults and 10$ for child under 12
