Saw this on the Narrow Gauge Discussion Forum. History of the old South Park engine now at the Colorado RR Museum, plus a nice old photo (click the link) of kids playing on the engine when it was on display long ago in Wiscinsin. One of the kids, now grown, posted the photo. Oops! Similar experience, wrong link. Try the one below.
