At one time the old gal was in front of the outside yard for all to see as you come up the road . Her paint is faded but her spirit is high ..I know she is not the museums property but it would be nice to see her cleaned up or painted and displayed for all to see ? Any one have any information on her future ? keith_schell@toyota.com |

4800 had at least 4 PRR paint schemes: boxed stripes (as 4899 then 4800); wide 5-stripes; regular 5-stripes; single-stripe. Somebody may want to clarify if it had Futura PRR 5-stripes as well as Clarendon PRR 5-stripes. This would make 5 PRR schemes. I'm sure all PRR paint was Dark Green. 4800 had 4 paint schemes unique to itself as a GG1: boxed stripes PRR; wide 5-stripe PRR, bicentennial CR and blue CR. The boxed stripe was shared with R1 4800 (later 4899 then 4999)and 4800 was the only GG1 painted in full CR. I believe Lancaster Chapter NRHS donated 4800 to the RRMPA a couple of years ago.
