At the Railroad Museum of Long Island we are in the process of restoring and planning for the installation of an 85 foot diameter turntable that had been in operation at the Canadian National Warren Street yard in Fort Erie. From the drawings it appears that it was built in the 1917 - 1918 time frame. In reviewing the drawings that we have and examining the turntable structure I can find no indication of who actually built it. Does anybody know if the Canadian National had the capability to fabricate such a turntable themselves? If so, did they build this one? If not, who would have built it?
