Just out of curiousity sake what is ridership like this summer? Ours is up a little though we have added extra trains.

In South Carolina, both our July open days were pretty good. June was kind of thin. I don't have the figures handy, but IIRC our charters are way down while regular ride days are up slightly. The decrease in charters has the total below last year, I think.

Field trips have always been looked on with disfavor in South Carolina. I think the politicos who make the rules look on them as an expensive day off for the kids instead of a valuable learning experience. Consequently, the rules have never made much sense and have been getting more and more strict lately. That and budget cuts have made a trip to the railroad museum more difficult for school groups. Since schools are about 90% of our charter business...
