Hi all some people think that a UT test can't find a weld that has less than full penatration. There for you most remove some patches to check. imo. this is unnessary a good ut tester /person can find less than full penatration welds. You can do this by grinding a flat spot on the seem and then doing a test say every 4" or so this will tell if you have a good weld or not. I do onthis old old boxes doesen't everyone else? regards bb.
