Recent photo of Maine Central 2-8-0 501 at N. Conway, NH. Was under repair for operation for a time, but (second hand info.) said to be the victim of a less than competent boiler contractor, with the project on hold for now.

Does anyone know the status of 7470? Last I heard it was getting a final inspection following overhaul last year to return this summer. But from all the pictures out of Conway this season there seems to be no sign of her. More work needed maybe?

7470 is being prepared for a Hydro test for the feds at this time. CSRR is also still waiting for the return of it's form four paperwork from uncle sam. Untill that paperwork is in their posession, 7470 will remain out of service. The locomotive itself is in great shape and ready to go as soon as the feds get going on their part.
Just how long does it take to get the form four paperwork done anyway? CSRR has been waiting for more than a year now.
