Numerous Lisbon wooden streetcars here in the US now. This is apparently what replaced them over there - quite a change. http://abpr2.railfan.net/abprphoto.cgi?january03/01-08-03/lisbon-509b_Rt.15_DavidPirmannPhoto_10-26-2001.jpg ryarger@rypn.org |

If the date on this photo is still correct, it looks like the old ones may still be running also. http://abpr2.railfan.net/abprphoto.cgi?january03/01-10-03/lisbon-576b_Rt.28_DavidPirmannPhoto_10-26-2001.jpg ryarger@rypn.org |

A friend of mine was just there in May and yes some of the old timers are still running. He also says that they use both 42 inch and standard gauge on the city system. ted_miles@nps.gov |

Suggest to your friend that he checks his tape easure. The gauge is really 900 mm. Some of the "old ones" are sometimes running in Detroit, MI Clica@xieee.org |

LSRM has some dual-gauge trackage which serves for both the streetcar and some NG freight cars. We were wondering if it was really 3' gauge but didn't have a tape measure! The 900mm explains it. Thanks. |
