| Post subject: | What happened to the auxilliary tenders? |
When it was touring the Burlington system in the 1960s, CB&Q 4960 pulled this auxilliary tender for extra water capacity. The Colorado & Southern had at least a couple of these cars that it used behind 2-10-2s north of Cheyenne. They were originally behind Fort Worth & Denver heavy 4-6-2s. Did this one or any of them survive after the end of Burlington steam? When and where were they scrapped? http://abpr2.railfan.net/abprphoto.cgi?january03/01-13-03/03_Backing_into_Chicago_station.jpg ryarger@rypn.org |
