Lots of history and info on this neglected piece of history. Hope somebody manages to do something with it eventually. Anyone know if the seats and other interior fittings survived?

I saw it a couple years ago in the back of the Rescar diesel maintenance facility in Minooka, IL. It is visible from a public highway, and I stumbled on it rather by accident - nearly drove into a car head-on as I went WHAAAA was that??! and nearly rubbernecked myself to death. It is behind a fenced storage yard, and if you want a closer look I would suspect you better get permission as I later did. All the windows and furnishings were out, but the carbodies were in incredible condition. Budd really knew how to build 'em. I later had a client do a tentative investigation of a concept for the trainset but it fell through for a variety of reasons.

Unlike a lot of stuff out there, it seems none the worse for sitting outside in the rain and Illinois weather.
