Lots of history and info on this neglected piece of history. Hope somebody manages to do something with it eventually. Anyone know if the seats and other interior fittings survived? http://www.rmi.cc/ ryarger@rypn.org |

I saw it a couple years ago in the back of the Rescar diesel maintenance facility in Minooka, IL. It is visible from a public highway, and I stumbled on it rather by accident - nearly drove into a car head-on as I went WHAAAA was that??! and nearly rubbernecked myself to death. It is behind a fenced storage yard, and if you want a closer look I would suspect you better get permission as I later did. All the windows and furnishings were out, but the carbodies were in incredible condition. Budd really knew how to build 'em. I later had a client do a tentative investigation of a concept for the trainset but it fell through for a variety of reasons. Unlike a lot of stuff out there, it seems none the worse for sitting outside in the rain and Illinois weather. > Lots of history and info on this neglected > piece of history.
