Can anyone tell us what happened to the tender and wooden coach that were used behind the C&NW 4-2-0 "Pioneer" at the 1948-49 Chicago RR Fair? The loco is displayed today without them at the Chicago Historical Society. Was the coach a replica or original?
The tender sits at the CA&E station in Villa Park that is now a local museum. I heard that the coach was included in the NRHS collection of equipment held at Riverside. I saw stuff there when i was a kid riding the BN bilevels, and the only disposition I know of is a Wilson reefer to South Elgin.
Olin.
