Can anyone provide more info about the trips 261 will be hauling on Oct. 4th and 5th? Will there be photo runbys? Will it be diesel assisted? I plan on riding behind the 261 and would like to know what to expect. Thanks for the info. |

If you were to ride only to Winona, you would be able to shoot the departure for LaCrescent and the arrival back at Winona. There will be an Amtrak diesel on the train to provide HEP. #261 will be able to handle the train without the diesel providing traction. Tickets are selling briskly so a sell-out is expected. Information is available at the website listed below. This will be a great trip with the locomotive back on "home" rails. Steve Sandberg will be re-tracing the steps of his grandfather on the division and with a locomotive that Mr. Sandberg ran many times. To say that these will be emotional trips would be an understatement. Please introduce yourself so I can put another face with a name. Don C. http://www.261.com milw261@sbcglobal.net |
