Several years ago, Kevin Cosner had a golf resort planned up in South Dakota. I remember there were plans to revive a section of CNW's Deadwood line. Whatever happened to this proposal?
Gerry
|

Cosner built some of the resort, and had plans to rebuild some of the old "Highline" but like the name of the town where his casino is... its "Dead". A tourist operation ran there in 1989-90 using an 0-4-0T+T with home built coaches. Nice run out of Deadwood with a 4% grade, but they packed it up and moved across the state to Prarie Village in Madison. The loco is a former ALCO that ran on the Cadillac & Lake City, and Duluth & NorthEastern....#11
JB
|

Stone Consulting and Design wandered into Georgetown Loop RR enginehouse a few years back and unrolled a map and some renderings that looked just like GLRR, except for a golf course where Devil's Gate should be. That would have been one hell of a railroad. I would have liked to have seen it meter gauge with South African Garrats for power.
Dave
lathro19@idt.net |
