Anyone know what locomotive this is? It is at the Steam Show in Hesston, Indiana. Can't tell whether it is two or three-foot gauge.

It appears to be 2' gauge, and from the cylinders and dry pipes to have started life as a (probably German) well-tank locomotive. The saddle appears to be fabricated from sheet steel during 'restoration' to cover the dry and exhaust pipes, rather than a two-piece casting including the cylinders, bolted together at the center line, which was usual US practice. Looks like a European locomotive that was "americanized". Anybody else have other comments?

It's a two foot gauge engine from Sandly Locomotive Works that was built from an old German engine for the Brookfield Zoo.

We had a discussion of these engine some time back. this engine started life as a WW1 German Feldbahnn trench job. If the runnin gear has been unaltered, it should have swinging (steerable)front and rear axles. not really a bad job of "Americanizing" a very German teakettle.
