The IRM webcam will really be jumping this weekend - it's Day Out With Thomas weekend. Our webmaster has even added a separate webcam showing the loading area! Frisco 2-10-0 #1630 is scheduled to operate both Saturday and Sunday, and there will be a large amount of streetcar traffic as well (seen from the Thomas webcam). I would highly recommend a visit to the IRM webcams, accessible from the homepage. Frank Hicks IRM homepage fullparallel@wideopenwest.com |

Pretty darn slick! I just tuned in at 6:30p and saw Thomas the Bank Engine, a streetcar, North Shore cars, the rapid transit zoom by on the main line and the smoke of the 2-10-4 in the background. Some operation! lamontdc@adelphia.net |

Of course our Frisco 1630 is a Russian decapod, or 2-10-0. We sometimes forget to enunciate all the details in our familiarity with it on a regular basis. It performed flawlessly due to our steam department curator, Tom Schneider, and the hard working crew who shoveled a LOT of coal in high humidity and 93 degree temperatures. That is, 93 outside the cab - any guesses on what it was right beside the firebox on the steel engine deck?? Lots of sun-pinked visitors and volunteers at the end of a very good day for them and for IRM. There are still three more event days, Sunday - and Saturday, Sunday next weekend for those who wish to 'eavesdrop' visually via the web cams. Bob Kutella 68trolley@comcast.net |
