The fall edition of "Ghost Tracks" (the Nevada Northern Museum newsletter) just arrived, and I notice that two photo freights have been scheduled for December 6 and 7. This is addition to the three steam "Polar Express" passenger trains scheduled for that weekend. So the NN will be unusally busy. My guess is they picked December because 93 would be steamed up for the passenger trains, and cold weather and low sun have produced some spectacular photographs on previous winter photo freights. This looks like a relatively low cost opportunity to get some of the same opportunities. Plus a bunch of passenger trains. Not to mention a chance to tour an incredibly well preserved shop, depot and yard.
