Just a nice photo of CP 4-4-0 136. Not sure where taken, probably one of the 1960 excursions in Ontario, just after it was retired from regular service in New Brunswick. http://abpr2.railfan.net/abprphoto.cgi?february03/02-01-03/cp-s136s.jpg ryarger@rypn.org |

The last three CP 4-6-0's in service (#29, #136 and #144) all had high mounted headlights. I have seen CP 4-6-0's both with high mounted headlights and headlights on the smokebox doors. Just curious if any CP 4-4-0's ever had smokebox door mounted headlights. Anyone know? Les Beckman (Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum/North Judson, Indiana) midlandblb@cs.com |

They ran it special for Nils Huxtable, myself and two other guys. It later was in the shop fire(about 1995), and it turns out our video was the last video of it running. Today its on display in front of the CPR headquarters in Calgary. Recently I saw some old film of 136 and 144 in regular service, and they both had the high headlight as did 29 in 1989. Nice looking old timers if you ask me!!! If anyone is interested we have the 29 along with CN 4-6-0 #1009 in Great Steam Trains-Vol 2. Videos sales@gregschollvideo.com |
