Remember when UP 844 had to be renumbered bccause of an infernal combustion machine? Both still exist, but the now-retired latter looks pretty sad in this photo.

It's sad not only for the Geep 844, but for the rest of the collection. I saw them last summer, and was sad to see so many derelict pieces at the Boulder City facility. I'm told the desert is a good place to store old things because they don't rust or get rained on. Yet, there is no shelter from the sun, and that wears out even the good running pieces' appearance. I wish them well.
