I have heard that there are only a couple of BQ23-7 locomotives remaining in the CSXT dead lines, unless they have been cut up. Does anyone know for sure which ones still remain, if any, and what their numbers are?
If there is a survivor, it should be preserved as an early example of the comfort cab concept. I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is and provide funding for the preservation of a BQ23-7 locomotive, either intact or just a carbody. I have a place to move it to for restoration as well.
Get me the info. and I'll make the inquiries.
Rick, I corresponded with CSXT, via their
surplus equipment disposal website, and I was told that they weren't making the locomotives
available for sale/otherwise.
Of course, this may not be the best corporate avenue...perhaps a query to CSXT head offices?
Rick...somehow I don't have the specific URL for CSXT's surplus sales page. Try searching thru the main site at www.csxt.com
