Greetings,

It appears steam will be making a visit to Omaha after all. The World Herald reported that "a steam locomotive" will be coming in from North Platte September 25th and staying throughout our River City Roundup. I'm not sure where they are going to keep her. In recent years the spur going into Barton Solvents next to the Golden Spike in Council Bluffs has been used. However, the Roundup will be at a new venue (the new convention center) next to UP tracks so we'll have to see where she will end up.

God Bless,
Gerald W. Kopiasz

Thanks for the note! If you happen to find any kind of time schedule for the locomotive's travels on the 25th, I'd be much obliged if you'd advise. Still can't find anything on the UP Steam or UPRR web sites, and trying a search on the World-Herald web site came up blank. Would like to catch it on its way through central Nebraska.

Thanks again,

Dick

The author of that thread is John Bromley of the UPRR Public Relations Department. With his name on the post, I feel confident that it is a go.

Thanks to all for the info. I checked with our local UPRR Manager of Road Operations and the trip isnÂ’t yet showing on their computer system. He will call me when it comes through, with schedule information.
