The photo below was recently posted on the nerails.org photo site, showing Canadian National electric MU car #6749 sitting on cribbing with its trucks pulled out at the Conway Scenic. Does anyone know what CSRR's plans for the car are? After looking around the nerails.org site a little bit, I came across a few other photos of CN MU cars that have been converted into coaches. We have #6746 at SCRM. The motors were in the 6730 series. Looks as if the 6743 has at least had its horns removed. We've left the horns on our cars because we operate push-pull -- having horns on the lead end of the train is quite handy. The South Carolina Railroad Museum mconrad@compuzone.net |
