Anyone catch the news in late August when Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell went to Altoona and gave the Altoona Railroaders Memorial Museum a $1.3 Million dollar check? No mention was made of this on the board. Details, anyone? Mr. Cessna?

Sorry I was on vacation and just saw your post. Actually it was $1.6 million. It is the State half of the total $3.2 million we received to build our roundhouse, turntable and finish the K4. The other half was Federal money passed through the state from the TEA21 program.

The Governor was very gracious in his comments and praised Representative Rick Geist (R - Altoona), Chair of the House Transporation Committee, for educating him on the situation in Altoona and what he could do to help. We expect the contract for the quarter-roundhouse to be let this winter and for steel to resume going up in the spring. The steel and roof for the pass-thru bay has been up for a year.

By the way, like most grants of this nature - not a dime of this is operating cash
