PostPosted: Fri Sep 12, 2003 12:46 am

The East Broad Top Railroad, owned by the Kovalchick family of Indiana, PA, announces the schedule for our annual Fall Event. Excursion trips from the original Orbisonia Station will begin at 9:30 a.m. and continue through 3:20 p.m. both days. The EBT will be using one steam locomotive (#14 built October 1912) which will pull a Passenger Train, and one General Electric 50 ton diesel locomotive (#M-7 built 1964) which will pull an all open car Shade Gap Picnic Train.

On display will be steam locomotive #17 (built March 1918) heading an accurate recreation of the last coal drag to operate here in March 1956.

The historic M-1 gas-electric motorcar (built 1926 in the EBT's own shops) will make two trips with a caboose at 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tickets to ride this one-of-a-kind piece of equipment will be $25.00 per person.

Tours of the Rockhill shops and roundhouse, in which the M-1 and much of the EBT's rolling stock was built, will be offered several times each day by the Friends of the EBT. Shop tour ticket are $7.00 per person and can be purchased at the shop door only. Schedules for shop tours and roundhouse tours can be found below.

The Night Trains will depart at 6:45 p.m. and 6:55 p.m. on Saturday evening only. Approximately 26 excursions are scheduled to operate during this two-day event. For your convenience, several food vendors will be on site both days.

The Rockhill Trolley Museum will use all operational equipment including a rare Brill curve-sided car, an open summer car, a Bullet car, and work & snow-fighting euipment.

If you would have clicked the link that I included in both messages, you would have seen the date is October 11 and 12, 2003.

Your original message was so long that I assumed all the info was there, and after reading it, figured the link would be more of the same so didn't bother.

I'll be with 6325 on the 11th so perhaps some other year for EBT. Last time I was there(EBT) was around 1965 or thereabouts.
