 Post subject: Flimsies: NKP Historical Society

Check out this article and compare it to some other newspapers reporting. Mr. Patch is a railfan, a regular at TO.com and writes a great article avoiding the cutsie buzzwords and gross technical errors so often seen in the press.

That NKP piece is very well done. Here's a live steam piece that's pretty well done also, except for mention of the scale - I've never ridden on an N scale train before...

"A "triplex," the sleek black machine has three sets of driving wheels -- 24 wheels, in all -- and is built to the Shady Dell's standard 160th scale, which equals 11/2 inches to the foot. The original, full-size locomotives were made from 1914 to 1916 in Erie, Pa., Anderson said. They were coal-fired steam engines, mostly used to haul freight cars full of coal."

slight math problem ...but I'd still like to see that triplex!- The British Niagara looks great at one-eighth the original.
