This one looks like a real fixer-upper. Perhaps someone will give it a good home. Perhaps it will become someone's home.

Anyone have any idea of its heritage?

Interestingly, there doesn't appear to be a reserve............

Here's the response I received from the seller:

"In 1988, the car had a fire in the kitchen area and will require major restoration work

Car was built 1886 By Barney & Smith in Ohio
placed into service on the northern Pacific named "Oneonta" converted to business car 1921 by Pullman and MOW car 1950."

Could this be Huntington's old car, or was it just named "Oneont" to evoke his car???

"Oneonta" is the name of a creek and falls located in the Columbia River Gorge on the Oregon side of the river. The NP ran over what is now the UP mainline, which is on the Oregon side, in the early early years. Both the NP and OR&N (UP) were owned by Henry Villard at this time frame I believe. The cars build date would fit the years the NP operated over this stretch of track.
