The Great Plains Transportation Museum in Wichita, Kansas has acquired ex UP 5745 a postal storage car which was built in late 1957 by ACF. The care was later used as a MOW car and numbered UP 904270. The museum plans on repainting the car into its orignal paint. Here lies the problem the sliding doors on the car are in horrible shape and need to be rebuilt. Does anyone have any prints or drawings dealing with the side doors on these type of cars. Please contact me at johndeck@cox.net or jdeck@alliedcrane.net. johndeck@cox.net |

The UP microfilmed a whole bunch of drawings in the mid-1970s and others have been able to get prints from this from the collection. There just might be the drawings that you need there. Hopefully, there is an index that can be used to find the drawings you need. Brian Norden bnorden49@earthlink.net |
