Parade float built by Rock Island shop forces at the Roswell roundhouse in Colorado Springs, around the turn of the century. Part of the old roundhouse still exists, and now houses the trolley group there, having narrowly escaped demolition a few years ago.

During the '40s and '50s the VFW post #999 located at the New York Central collinwood yards built a replica of the NYC 999 locomotive to use in parades. It was powered by an automobile engine and could be driven on the streets. Sorry, I don't have a photo, but perhaps someone else does and could post a link or source.
